The Montana Municipal Clerks Treasurers & Finance Officer's Association is the State organization that serves as a catalyst for all clerks, treasurers and finance officers in Montana. We also plan the education that is one of the primary focuses of the organization; its Education committee ensures that the best educational opportunities available are provided. Annual dues are $50.00.

The Montana Association of Municipal Clerks:

  • Provides educational and training opportunities for Municipal Clerks enhancing skills and improving the performance of Municipal Clerks;

  • Fosters a better acquaintance with the Municipal Clerks of the State of Montana;

  • Assists in developing proper and efficient performance of Municipal Clerks duties associated with the activities of the office;

  • Advances and supports sound local government;

  • Brings the Municipal Clerks of the State of Montana together to exchange ideas to promote cooperation in finding solutions to common problems;

  • Engages activities bringing about a better understanding of Montana Municipal Government;

  • Cooperates with the Montana League of Cities and Towns, the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, and other organizations dedicated to the improvement of municipal affairs.

Registration Fees

The MMCT&FOA is offering two Memorial Scholarships. Click here to read more.

Registration fees include: instructor's time and travel, training materials, continental breakfasts, lunches, and one ticket to the Thursday evening banquet. Clerks from outside of Montana are subject to an out-of-state fee of $35. Non-members of the Montana Municipal Clerks, Treasurers, & Finance Officers Association (MMCT&FOA) may obtain membership from the MMCT&FOA for $50 or must pay the $25 non-member fee. Attendees are responsible for their own lodging and travel costs.

Accommodations

Participants are responsible for their own housing arrangements. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Billings Hotel & Convention Center in Billings, the facility hosting the Forum. The release date for the block of rooms is April 20th. Complimentary passes to the Billings Athletic Club will be available for the duration of the conference for those who have booked a room at the hotel.

Cancellation Policy

If notice of cancellation is received by the Local Government Center by April 27, 2012 the total registration fee will be refunded. No refund will be made for cancellations received after April 27, 2012. Substitute participants may be made at any time.

Continuing Education Units (CEU's)

Participants successfully completing the Institute can earn Continuing Education Units for both the five day program and the three day program. To earn CEU's, attendance is required and will be taken at each session. One Continuing Education Unit is 10 contact hours of participation in an organized continuing education experience under responsible sponsorship, capable direction and qualified instruction. The cost of CEU's is $20 and can be paid at Institute by cash, check made out to Montana State University or VISA/Master Card credit cards. Please do not include the cost of CEU's with your registration fee as CEU's are administered through the Office of Extended University at Montana State University, not the Local Government Center..

Montana Municipal Institute for Clerks, Treasurers, & Finance Officers

The Montana Municipal Institute is a certification program for town and city clerks, treasurers, and finance officers. Working with the Montana Municipal Clerks Treasurers and Finance Officers Association (MMCT&FOA), the Local Government Center administers the Institute.
